The dancers are facing each other. The man has his hands crossed behind his back and holds both the lady's hands in a crossed hold, right to right and left to left.

The man is standing in front of the lady with his back to her. The man has his hands crossed in front of him and holds both the lady's hands in a normal hold, right to left and left to right.

This Embrace can be done in a shadow or a butterfly position. The example on the left shows the dancers in a shadow position.
