SalsaBrava

Ladies Styling with Joby Vazquez

Level: Beg-Adv

Style: LA

Content: Warm ups, Basic, Shines, Styling

General Comment: SalsaBrava are icons of LA style. Usually if you like LA salsa, you will like SalsaBrava. I do not like LA style. Nevertheless, I believe this is a very good video. Joby shows her good dance technique right from the start and follows that through the entire video. You will find some good stretching exercises to warm up, explanation of basic steps as well as basic elements of lady styling. Then you will find a set of shines with typical LA flavor. There is enough material to keep busy beginners as well as advanced dancers. A very good video for your collection if you like LA style, and a worthwhile buy even if you do not like the LA flashy stuff but you just want to challenge your technique..

Salsa Brava Beg / Intermediate Video

Level: Beg-Int

Style: LA

Content: Figures

General Comment: The video starts by covering basic concepts of timing, styling and basic steps. However it rushes through all this very briefly. The core of the video comprises 10 figures, including standard LA moves. Both the man and lady part is explained and some basic concepts of styles are also given. There is only one view from each figure but the explanations are quite good. The style is pure LA, flashy and energetic as it should be. All together the video contains little novel material, but some solid instruction to get started with LA style
