Salsa with Silvia

Salsa with Silvia - The ultimate dance experience

Level: Beginners-Intermediate

Style: On 1

Content: Basic steps, turn patterns, lead and following.

General Comment:In this DVD Silvia assumes you are a complete beginner planning to learn to dance salsa on1. She starts by showing you the basic steps, the basic elements of posture, how to synchronise your steps to the music, a few variations of the basic steps and some footwork decorations. All this is done for both the male and female parts and then combined with and without music. Then you can find some tips on leading and following technique as well as some basic elements of salsa on1: left and right turns, cross body lead, copas and variations. What is interesting here is that we are used to seeing these elements instructed by the leader, while here Silvia does all the teaching as a follower, which is a nice addition to the usual salsa instruction approach. These elements are then combined in 6 turn patterns of intermediate level difficulty. This is a down to earth, unpretentious, friendly and straightforward DVD, designed to take you quickly from zero dance knowledge to the dance floor to see if salsa is for you. If it is, styling and technical details can be added later on. If this is what you are after, this DVD can be a good choice
