Orville Small

Advanced Turn Patterns on1

Level: Advanced

Style: LA

Content: 10 advanced turn Patterns; audio and visual instructional sections On1; demonstrations On1 and On2; bonus freestyle footage;
bloopers

General Comment: Wow! Just when I thought I had seen them all, Marc from DC writes to me and says: “You have to watch Orville’s DVD”. So I buy it and yes, great tip Marc! This DVD contains 10 diabolical turn patterns which appear mildly advanced, but in reality are very advanced. The deception is due to Orville's skill (and his partner's of course) in making everything look so smooth and easy. But it’s not, and when it is your turn to try them out you will face the truth. This is not a drawback, rather a compliment. BTW, when I say ‘diabolical’ read ‘ingenious & cool’. The main feature of these very innovative turn patterns is a mixture of Cuban armwork with typical NY/LA on the line signature, seasoned with some very surprising passages. All patterns are shown on 1 and on 2 and the explanations are sufficient for advanced dancers to learn what needs to be learned, if you practise enough. Ladies will find that there is more for the guy in this DVD than for them, which is probably due to the Cuban inspiration in most moves; still Orville’s two partners are good, you can learn from watching them and advanced followers’ skills are essential to master all the intricacies. Recommended.
